With all the hand peeled, oven roasted coffee from the nicest african hills sitting lumbering in my kitchen..I love Nescafe.
Am I alone in this?

AHh.. I think you are. I can't stand anything from a sealed cheap coffee company or already ground coffee in a can that has been sitting for who knows how long on the store shelves. LOL But in an emergency I would do the unthinkable and drink some of that stuff if I didn't have any other choice.

My friends call me a coffee snob cause I only go for the good coffee.

There was a wall of silence on which I drew some conclusions from concerning the popularity of nescafe.

In fact I do sometimes grind my own coffee etc etc. But because time does give some limitations to good coffee in the morning, I got used to the instant stuff (Arabica mind you).

Perhaps I should refrase this topic to:
SOS! help wanted! Is it possible to get some nice caffeine rich coffee in the morning within existing time refrains. (since I already get up at 5:30, getting up even earlier is no option)

Buy a coffee maker that turns on in the morning. Just set it all up at night and you will wake up to the wondeful smell of fresh coffee entering your nose.

At least that is what I did up till three months ago when it broke. CRY!!!

Yep Yep, self brewing coffee maker would fit the bill. I'm sure you can find one in the Netherlands.
Instant coffee is the devil's friend.

Ouch, i sense a coffeefetisj in here! Worked for an Italian coffeemaker in the past, who let me experience all coffeemakers in the book, but I still prefer those small Ialian steamers (they even beat the new Philips Senseo coffeemakers).
So, I tried pure coffees like real mocha from Yemen, but also good blends like those from an Italian coffeeblender who roasts on an oak fire, or from what I think are the best blenders worldwide (Murchie's, Douwe Egberts) I do prefer to start the day with Nescafé Gold though. Really. Thumbs up, Battlecat!

Ah, I am not that alone out here!

Like your ways of coffee drinking MK. I think I differ on your opinion on the Senseo machine, on the other hand, never really tasted it.

Must say I am not a fan of electrical appliances for making coffee. Do use the steamers for italian coffe, drip machines might be good but prefer the manual method and it also dource for my Senseo prejudice)

Ever experienced this in the morning? An almost empty pot of Nescafé ...

Well, I usually have a spare one, but the morning I was out of the stuff is carved in my memory for ever.

I can't say that I'm a fan of Nescafé. I haven't had any instant coffee in so long that I can't remember what it tasted like. I do remember that I didn't like it however. I do not to like auto-drip coffee either. It tastes like weak dish-water. Even if I were grind the beans myself and adjust the amount to suit my love of a strong cup coffee, the hot water is not in contact with the grinds long enough to produce the kind of rich coffee that I prefer. I just don't think it is a good brewing method. I brew my coffee in either a simple french press or my Gaggia espresso machine. The Senseo coffee maker wouldn't be a good fit for me as I'm abhorred by the thought of using those pre-ground coffee pads, which offer neither the freshness nor choice in beans or grinds that I'm used to.

If I was out of coffee and for some reason my non-starbuck neighborhood coffee shop was closed, I'd rather just start my day with a Coke than to drink was passes for coffee in the likes of 7-11 and Dunkin Donuts.
